DOCTOR OCTOPUS VS. SPIDER-MAN AT BEYOND HQ!

It’s going to take everything Ben Reilly and the company that backs him has to stop Otto Octavius.

But, in the Merry Marvel fashion and as with all respectable Spider-Stories, even if Spider-Man wins, he is going to lose. And he is going to lose BIG.

32 PGS./Rated T+ …$3.99

Doctor Octopus breaks into another Beyond Corporation building directly, through the front door.

He easily dispatches the super-heroines in their employ…

…to get to the Corp’s head Maxine Danger, but…

…he’s met by Ben Reilly the current Spider-Man who is in Beyond’s employ too who relieves Ock of his extra appendages.

A fight ensues…

…that gets ugly…

…really ugly before Ock shows Spider-Man proof of Beyond’s duplicity and ill intent…

…picking this Spider-Man to work with because he was gullible and easy to manipulate.

He lets Ock go and confronts Maxine about why she recruited him and she gives an answer he no longer trusts.

Ben Reilly is at a crossroads and teases an even newer Spider-Man to come?!

The Pulse:

A beautifully drawn issue, but it felt like there was more word balloons in this issue than action. That said, still rooting for Ben and curious how this Beyond arc wraps up in the coming months. 6.5 out of 10.
