Patrick Stewart Confirms That Star Trek: Picard Will End After Third Season<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

We\u2019ve known that there will be at least\u00a0three seasons of\u00a0Star Trek: Picard<\/em><\/a>\u00a0for awhile, but we didn\u2019t know for sure if the series would end there.<\/p>\n

In an interview with\u00a0SFX Magazine<\/a><\/em>, Jean-Luc himself (aka Sir\u00a0Patrick Stewart)<\/a>\u00a0confirmed that the third season will be the final one of the show.<\/p>\n

The magazine\u2019s ten-page spread on\u00a0Picard<\/em>\u00a0includes Stewart and executive producer Akiva Goldsman confirming that the third season will be the last and that they\u2019re close to wrapping production on the series. This news comes days after Paramount+ dropped a\u00a0trailer for season two<\/a>\u00a0that showed us Whoopi Goldberg reprising her role of Guinan once again, among many other things.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The fact that season three will be the last\u00a0Picard<\/em>\u00a0isn\u2019t all that surprising given Stewart is into his eighties now. That doesn\u2019t mean, however, that there won\u2019t be any potential spinoffs from the show. We\u2019re already getting an\u00a0audio drama focused on Seven (Jeri Ryan) and Raffi (Michelle Hurd)<\/a>, and there are plenty of other characters in Picard\u2019s new crew who could show up elsewhere in the\u00a0Trek\u00a0<\/em>universe.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, we can go into season two starting on March 3 with the knowledge that this is the middle of a three-part arc for the show. No news yet on when season three will premiere, though given where they are in production, it will most likely be sometime early in 2023.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
