The Bionic Woman was so much better than The Six Million Dollar Man. That might sound like sacrilege, but the writers made Jaime Sommers (Lindsay Wagner) a much more complex character than Steve Austin (Lee Majors). Jamie is a top tennis pro about to marry Steve Austin. But a horrible accident puts her in the same spot as when Steve had his massive crash. Steve gets Oscar Goldman (Richard Anderson) to make her part of the Bionics program. She gets new legs, an arm and an ear. But unlike Steve, her human body isn’t quite accepting the robotic substitutes. This makes Jaime’s life a question of balance. While she wants to do the necessary missions to payback her new life, she wants a bit of a normal life in Ojai, California. Wagner brings so much to the character that could have been so robotic. All three seasons of The Bionic Woman are being upgraded to Blu-ray along with the reunion movies that brought Jaime and Steve back together again. There’s even the crossover Six Million Dollar Man episodes that kept us watching both shows to get the full story. Here is the press release from Shout! Factory with all the details and bonus features for The Bionic Woman Compete Series boxset:
