Sins of Sinister #1 Spoilers and Review.
The world has changed.
Mister Sinister now rules Krakoa and the Resurrection Protocol of The Five.
The resurrected mutants are not X-Men, but Sinisters?
The issue continues from the cliffhanger of Immortal X-Men #10.
The Quiet Council are all under the influence or control of Mister Sinister.
Even J. Jonah Jameson who has Ben Urich held captive over what’s he’s learned about these sinister happenings.
Many mutants are under Sinister’s thrall and their efforts include duping humanity.
However, the Avengers and Earth’s other super-heroes stand with the X-Men.
The sentient island of Krakoa has also seen its brain literally fried.
We then learn how Sinister was able to make his plans come to fruition.
It involved his Moira MacTaggert / Moira X clones and learning that Hope was his biggest threat to neutralize along with Thanos, Namor, Doctor Doom, the Inhumans, the Fantastic Four and the Avengers.
They attempt to subdue or dupe one of their own in Storm, but that does not prove successful.
Looks like Storm is now allied with Destiny and Mystique as Sinister’s plans continue to unfold.
Even the Scarlet Witch has been subdued.
10 years into the future the world is changed.
Storm remains a threat to this new world order and remains an inspirational rebel.
Its a world where Sinister sits on and owns the Quiet Council.
However, cracks appear and Sinister’s control does not appear absolute.
The book ends with Mister Sinister ready to regroup.
However, all of his Moira MacTaggert / Moira X clones have been stolen!
It would appear that Mister Sinister can not change this future and he’s now trapped in a world of his own making.
Next Up.
The Sins of Sinister checklist follows.
The Pulse:
A complicate and confusing formal event kick-off. Decent art, but a rather inaccessible story. I’m intrigued by this alternate world or timeline, but I found this one-shot padded, long with moments of incomprehension. 4.5 out of 10 on the strength of the art.
