DC Comics and Knight Terrors Spoilers follows.
Who Is The NEW Villain Behind DC’s Two-Month Summer Event?
Spoilers For Knight Terrors: Batman #1, Knight Terrors: Joker #1, Knight Terrors: Black Adam #1, Knight Terrors: Ravager #1, Knight Terrors: Poison Ivy #1 and Knight Terrors: First Blood #1!
Knight Terrors: First Blood #1 Spoilers.
The villain Insomnia is taking revenge on the heroes who did him wrong, but he’s made the whole world sleep – heroes, villains, civilians – in his quest to find the Nightmare Stone.
Knight Terrors: Batman #1 Spoilers.
Batman may be only “awake” person in the real world per se because the Deadman has taken over his body, but Bruce Wayne is still stuck in the Nightmare Realm, I think, as Deadman not Batman is controlling his body in the real waking world.
Insomnia shows himself to Batman in the Nightmare Realm where Batman has taken himself to a graveyard in front of Wayne Manor with the tombstones of his mother, father and his long-time butler followed by tombstones with all of his sidekicks, allies and partners!
In the Nightmare Realm Batman embodies several personas starting with the (1) hurt child on the night of his parents death followed by (2) a monster bat-man with a gun for a head.
He seems to also become (3) a heroic bat-man persona whom Insomnia welcomes by explaining he is not creating these personas and scenarios, but Batman is.
While a final persona this issue (4) as Joe Chill the man who killed his parents to round end the issue.
The back-up story features Batman’s son Damian Wayne as Robin which ends on a cliffhanger that leads into Knight Terrors #3 (of 4).
Knight Terrors: Joker #1 Spoilers.
It is interesting that in Joker’s duology he refers to Insomnia as Mr. Dee aka Dr. Destiny‘s alter ego, but they were presented as two different characters in Knight Terrors: First Blood #1.
The book ends with Joker watching TV with a Batman corpse in his closet?!
Knight Terrors: Black Adam #1 Spoilers.
This one-shot doesn’t appear to include an overt Insomnia, unless he’s the cat, but Batman ends the issue seemingly looking for an alliance with Black Adam as well as promising answers to what’s going on.
Knight Terrors: Ravager #1 Spoilers.
No overt appearance of Insomnia in this one-shot unless he’s the evil Rose Wilson who faces her alter ego Ravager who appears to be the “real one” in this Nightmare Realm.
Looks like the Ravage is somehow the bridge to bringing Insomnia, I think, permanently out of the Nightmare Realm into the real waking world.
Interestingly, in the real world, Ravager’s teammates are awake and not sleeping and stuck in the Nightmare Realm.
Perhaps it has to do with their base orbiting Earth, but not being on Earth.
They are monitoring Ravager’s sleeping real world body for now.
Knight Terrors: Poison Ivy #1 Spoilers.
No realm look at Insomnia, but a macabre nightmare of an issue.
Week 2 of Knight Terrors is next week.
